Toronto, May 8, 2017 – Nestled in what once was a thriving Toronto nightclub district is the historic Waterworks building. It’s in the process of being converted into another luxury downtown condominium, but until then they’re using it for cool events like last week’s Sharp Magazine party.
Sharp The Book For Men, published semiannually by Sharp Magazine, hosts seasonal launch parties in the book’s honour. Canada’s answer to GQ or Esquire, Sharp Magazine celebrates all things gentlemanly including fashion, travel, cars, boats and much more. This year’s spring/summer 2017 issue coincides with the 10 year anniversary of Sharp Magazine and makes it Sharp’s 14th issue of Book For Men. One of the most coveted Toronto fashion events, I’m often on the receiving end of many text and DM pleas to help get people in. Sorry, wish I could help guys but guest list is tight.
Upon entry to last week’s party, guests were offered the opportunity to become Sharp cover stars (i.e. having the images superimposed onto the cover) while posing alongside Jaguar Land Rover’s muscular vehicles. Paco Rabanne Invictus & Olympea provided Instagrammable moments with their 180-degree photo array booth. Tweezerman (best tweezers and nail clippers out there) was on site offering barber touch-ups and their own social media photo booth.
Breitling’s VIP area served up cognac samplings and views of their beautiful promo models and timepieces. Also on hand were sponsors: Miyabi Knives, Glenmorangie scotch, Martell cognac, Crystal Head vodka, Robert Mondavi wine, Peroni beer, and American Crew haircare products.
Great tunes all night care of WayHome festival’s guest DJ and a parade of beautiful stylish people made for an epic party. We had a chance to speak with Sharp The Book For Men’s editorial and creative director, Michael La Fave. Check out our interview and event photos below.
Sharp The Book For Men ($16.95) and Sharp Magazine ($6.95) are available on newsstands everywhere.
