Toronto, October 17, 2012 – The two-day fashion event known simply as The ShOws, welcomes four Canadian big designers every season that have been making waves on the world stage. Although Jean-Pierre Braganza was born in, and shows in London, he was actually raised in Montreal and Toronto. For Spring/Summer 2013, Bragazna found both inspiration and muse in Ukrainian artist Zinaida Lihacheva.
Braganza had never collaborated with a woman before and the incredible result speaks for itself. Looking for colour-blocked pieces? Check. Fancy wild optical prints? Check again. The deconstructed refashioned tuxedo-for-her has proven big on the international runways and Braganza’s version mixes well with the best of them. Favourites of SS13 include the colour-blocked sleeveless dresses, artistic black and white prints, dyed prints, and those elegant yet edgy silhouettes.
