Toronto, October 18, 2012– FASHION Magazine welcomed 700 guests to Toronto’s Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District last night. Their party celebrates 35 years in fashion, which coincides with the release of a 35th Anniversary Special Collector’s Edition issue autographed by Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista. The November 2012 issue illustrates how far Canadian women have come since 1977 and highlights the magazine’s mandate of bringing the international world of fashion home to Canada.
There are some great features in the special issue including an interview between current editor-in-chief, Bernadette Morra and FASHION’s first editor-in-chief, John McKay who now runs a PR firm we deal with regularly called MacKay & Co. As to be expected by way of the cover, there’s a great piece on Linda Evangelista and you’ll find several beautiful photo spreads that include: A Canadian in Paris, Peak Performance and Team Canada.
Guests at last night’s event all got a copy of the issue and were treated to music by DJ Cozmic Cat, performances by Divine Brown and Parallels. Activations included some creative interactive booths by event sponsors L’Oréal Paris and Brownsand Guess Watches. Catering was provided by Distillery Events, bar by PMA Canada and Perroni, rentals from Luxe Modern Rentals, event by CANDICE&ALISON Luxury Event Management. The evening was also supported by bottlegreen and AquaHydrate waters, and Elmer Olsen models.
Big thanks to GUESS Watches who invited us to hang out with all of the beautiful people and who put up with me trying on their watches while making funny faces in front of their photo booth. FASHION Magazine is available at newsstands everywhere.
