New York, September 14, 2012 - Clean, minimalist, four-colour simplicity that would make Scandinavian heads turn. That’s how we would describe Carlos Campos Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. It’s inspired by the colour palette and structural design of Spanish architect Santiago Callatrava. The Honduran-born American designer collaborated with the Spanish architect on the New York ballet two years ago. Clearly, this left an impression on him.
The pieces looked incredible as styled – even better mixed and matched. Perhaps somewhat difficult to see in the photos, were tiny printed stars that add some fun to many of the pieces. Clear must-haves for SS13. Beyond the palette, there is a clean cut aesthetic that dominates SS13. “Carlos’ concept this year is inspired in the 1960s mod. This is a very well-groomed man,” celebrity makeup artist Karlo Karlo explained. He and maverick hair stylist Cesar Ramirez created a mannequin-like look that complimented Campos’ vision. It’s a look we love.
