New York, September 14, 2012 – It’s pretty hard to resist a woman in Hervé Léger and Spring/Summer 2013 is no exception. Max Azria’s bandage dresses make women look like gift wrapped beauties. The wrapping paper next season, as it were, is represented by handcrafted embroidery, patchwork and appliqué fused with signature couture techniques. The patterns were inspired by the sultry South – Alabama to be precise. A group of women in Gee’s Bend and their artful quilt making provide as obscure a reference as any for a fashion collection. Portraying feminine strength, a neutral palette of white, nutmeg and pale greys is offset by brilliant flashes of colour. As beautiful as the bandage dresses are, the swimwear is stunning. Texture plays as big a role as shapes with python and leather ankle boots, belts and harnesses (they love those harnesses) accentuating the overall look. Like a bow, on gift wrapped goddess.
