Converse Fall/Winter 2012 Footwear & Accessories

Converse FW12
Toronto, July 11, 2012Hotel Ocho played host to Converse’s latest footwear and accessory presentation in downtown Toronto yesterday afternoon. Converse Fall 2012 introduces some exciting new fall/winter-ready styles by reworking some of their classic silhouettes. The Winterized Collection is a rugged version of classic Chuck Taylors with sealed breathing holes, heavier rubber traction and plush liners. Guys are going to want to keep an eye out for are the Hiker Hi-Tops with contrast laces. Very nice. Some pretty cute Moc Fringe Mids for the women in this collection as well.

Chuck Taylor All Star shoes continue to evolve with the introduction of new pops of colour and design motifs. The cherry tomato, rust, ginger snap, parasailing, kombu green, and warm olive canvas sneakers look amazing. The Converse Gorillaz collaboration enters its final stretch with a celebration of Jamie Hewlett’s early work for the band. The Murdoc print features the famous character emblazoned on the heel of the classic hi-top shoe. The black and white group print is probably the best they’ve put out since last season’s camo print. Spring/Summer 2013 will see a new musical collaboration for Converse so this is your last chance to grab a pair of Gorillaz. Just in time for Batman’s Dark Knight Rises, DC comics Chucks are still going strong with awesome vintage comic book graphics.

Converse Fall 2012 also introduces a new set of Premium selections. Classic Jack Purcell silhouettes suit up in authentic British Millerain fabrics to take it to the next level. Girls, look for the new Converse Marimekkos based on the designer’s bold textile patterns. Converse by John Varvatos continues to play dirty with new burnish finishes on the Star Player sneakers, as well as turning things up a notch with our favourite – the new Weapon sneaker.

Debuting in 1986, the Converse Weapon immediately became the “weapon of choice” on basketball courts and was worn by some of the most iconic basketball players throughout the 80’s and 90’s.The iconic silhouette will debut as part of the Fall 2012 Converse by John Varvatos collection with a slightly slimmer silhouette and super-soft leather uppers. Available in five colour variations, the Converse by John Varvatos Weapon is the perfect mix of vintage sensibility and modern style. Gotta have these!
