Berlin, July 5, 2012 – Inspired by pop art and virtual reality, HUGO Spring/Summer 2013 consists of modern and classic 1950s/1960s couture pieces. Futuristic details and accessories were everywhere in a show that played out in several acts. The show began clean and simple enough. One after another, models paraded down the runway in cream ensembles devoid of colour except for a footwear and accessories that hinted at what was to come.
Seeming to have taken its cue from Jil Sander FW12, pink hued womenswear followed. Cobalt blue men’s suits were cut similar to their white counterparts in bizarre short slim lapelled four-buttoned varieties. Four-buttoned? Enter dip dyes, teals and turquoise along with hologram accents for the women. Some great looks in there for both men and women, but I’ll stick to the two-buttoned suit selection.
