Paris, July 1, 2012 – First he channeled Fidel, now he’s gone all naval on us. Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2013 marks Kris Van Assche’s blue period. A season marked by clean cut looks and spit shined shoes fit for the highest ranked officers. He started with a navy blazer and went from there. Slim fitting, narrow lapelled, cropped jacket navy blue suits are must haves for SS13. Contrasting white buttons or blue, double or single breasted – you just can’t go wrong.
It’s minimal yes, but that’s Dior. Naturally, we were bound to see a Breton sweater or two and we did. Reworked, they stripes were three dimensional ropes and they were impeccably styled with bold red dress shirts and shoelaces to match. Military outerwear also present, however mesh, drawstrings and sleeveless elements added an athletic feel to them.
