Milan, June 23, 2012 – One of the absolute best collections to come out of Milan this season is Ermenegildo Zegna’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. A yearning for couture pervades the collection and the rigour of the Italian sartorial tradition opens up to sophisticated possibilities that blur the line between eclecticism and eccentricity. We noted silk and silk blends a major trend for SS12 and it would seem that Anna Zegna would agree. The cashmere of summer was incorporated into every look.
The styling was 100% pure Italian blending sophistication with subtle playfulness. Silk and silk cotton suits in shades of camel, teal, tobacco, cream, cinnamon and faded red were the highlight of the collection. Leather footwear and handbags also looked impressive. Zegna also worked silk fabrics into fruit printed dress shirts. Zegna always paints a picture of the consummate professional male who works hard, but also knows how to play hard – in style.
