London, December 14, 2011 – Luxury online retailer NET-A-PORTER.COM has teamed up with world-renowned fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld to release a new line simply called KARL. Launching on 25th January 2012, the strategic partnership sees NET-A-PORTER as the exclusive US retailer both on-and-off line. The announcement comes only months after the release of Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse at Macy’s, which we can only assume did really, really well.
NET-A-PORTER will be offering over 70 pieces from the collection, including fashion-forward pants, sweatshirts, skirts, shirts, dresses, T-shirts, shoes and bags, each inspired by the graphic shapes synonymous with Karl Lagerfeld’s style. Black, white, grey, silver, burgundy and pink are the colors of the SS12 season.

The three ensembles above are the only images that NET-A-PORTER are releasing to the public at the moment. They describe the collection as the shaking up of traditional shapes while keeping a functional aspect. Look for sleeveless leather jackets, dresses adorned with zippers, double-bib front in black coated cotton and swimmer-back cut shirts.
Also featured are shorts in heavy cotton with a buttoned fly and zippers on the thighs, as well as black wool pants with tuxedo stripes. With an appreciation of all things feminine, the collection also has sensual drapings on t-shirt dresses in metallic-silk or cotton jersey, leather skirts, round-collar silk blouses, plunging zippered necklines on the back of short dresses, detachable collars, sequined skirts and dresses.

The products are made to be collected and worn together for the perfect KARL look. Prices for the collection ranges from $50 for a canvas bag embellished with a cameo of the unmistakable profile of Karl Lagerfeld to over $1,000 for some of the signature leather pieces.
