RUDSAK’s Fall/Winter 2011 Collection combines Easy Rider with urban lifestyle for a laid back, edgy, 70s-inspired biker look. The RUDSAK women however, appear to be having all the fun. “The RUDSAK woman is so confident, she could do both,” answers designer Evik Asatoorian when asked if the RUDSAK woman likes to drive, or be driven. “The whole labeling, 70s hippie look is gone. It’s natural for a woman to be independent and to be sure of herself and that inspiration is what I like the most.” The men’s collection features black fitted variations on the biker jacket and boots. The women’s on the other hand, gets quite a bit more variety by way of leathers, accessories, and even a bit of colour. From fitted leather jackets, to 3/4 length coats, down-filled leathers with luxurious fur collars, soft shearlings, fur vests – the scales are tipped in favour of the ladies. Women’s accessories included stud embellished handbags, wedge heels, and fur-trimmed boots as well. It would have been nice to have seen some of the browns, creams, and fur incorporated into some of the menswear. Especially for FW11, seeing as many of the labels have adopted fur-trimmed collars for their men’s outerwear collections. Can’t complain about a quality men’s RUDSAK black leather jacket though. It’s a timeless style classic and worthy investment. I should know, I bought a RUDSAK over ten years ago and it’s still going strong to this day.
